Dave Root specializes in civil defense litigation. He has tried numerous civil cases throughout Georgia, in matters involving general liability, employment, construction and other areas.
Dave is a magna cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University (B.A., 1977) where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta. He graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Law (J.D., 1980) where he participated in Moot Court.
Dave is a past Managing Partner of Carlock, Copeland & Stair. He served two terms as Chair of the DeKalb Bar Association Litigation Section, is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and has written and spoken on a variety of legal topics. Dave is a member of the practicing bar of all Georgia trial and appellate courts, Federal District Courts in Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
