Pete practices in commercial litigation with an emphasis on professional-liability and real-estate matters. In the professional-liability arena, his practice focuses on representing lawyers faced with legal-malpractice claims or lawsuits and disciplinary proceedings before the State Bar. He represents litigators and transactional lawyers across the state in a wide variety of matters, including cases alleging malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, and fraud. He also advises and defends accountants and insurance agents/brokers faced with E&O, disciplinary, and subpoena-compliance issues.
Pete's second specialty is real-estate litigation, where he is often called upon to help resolve disputes involving title insurance, mortgage fraud, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and claims against real-estate agents and brokers. His litigation background also includes significant experience in general business and insurance-coverage matters.
In addition to handling claims and litigation, Pete often counsels his fellow members of the Bar on ethics, risk-management, and E&O-insurance issues and speaks on those topics regularly at CLE seminars and conferences in Georgia and across the country. (Click the "Publications & Presentations" link on the right side of the page for a list of past speaking engagements.) Pete also participates in the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer Foundation's Saturday Lawyer Program, through which he provides pro bono assistance to low-income clients faced with landlord-tenant and consumer-debt issues.
In 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, Pete was honored on the Georgia Rising Stars® list in Atlanta Magazine/Law and Politics, voted by his peers as one of Atlanta's best young lawyers.
